At long last, the weather has allowed us to kick off the year with the last 3 games being called off because of the weather.

Witney Lakes GC 14th April

Our second game was the inaugural Nomads Gloucestershire show the flag game held at Witney Lakes on the 14 April.

The course was in superb condition, greens were fast and true. I don’t think we did the course justice with the scores that were posted.

Well, done to Steve Cochrane, Basil Burger, John Browning and the team for an excellent first game. It was exceptionally well organised and went without a hitch. I have no doubt that Nomads Gloucestershire will grow from strength to strength under their leadership.

We had 24 golfers, with an average handicap of 15 and average score of 28.1 points.

Thanks to all the Visitors who joined us, and the sponsors for their support. The sponsors generosity certainly makes our Prize table look fantastic.

Congrats to all our winners especially to Leighton – Zero to hero (Winner Div 1. 32 points), Gary Biffen (Winner Div 2. 36 points) and Steve Cochrane (23 points) for winning his first ever crying towel in his 19 years as a Nomad, first to wear the pink piggy ears and as his first outing as the Nomads Gloucestershire Captain.
